A Car Accident Made Me Take Things More Seriously

As someone who is a safe driver and had never been in a car accident before, it was a shock to be in a major accident by the time I reached my fifties. I guess I just didn’t think about it being a possibility anymore when I had no issues for so many decades. After I got out of the hospital, I still needed to do rehabilitation treatment. Separately, I made regular visits to a chiropractor in Cumming GA after each of my rehab treatments. It’s been six months, and I feel pretty good now. I am lucky that I made it out of that bad accident alive.

It has always been important to me to not drink and drive, always wear my seat belt and pay attention when I am on the road. Not only have I always wanted to keep myself safe, I have never wanted to be responsible for hurting anyone else either. It happened the night that I went out to pick up my son really late from a party. He called me at about 11PM and woke me. He told me that he had too much to drink and was afraid to drive home. I jumped into the car and went to pick him up, but I was so tired that I ran off the road on the way to get him.

When I woke up in the hospital, I was confused about where I was at first. I had no recollection of what happened at all. My husband was there in the room with me and he calmed me down and explained what happened. He said that our son was fine and he got a ride home with someone else. I worked hard to do what the doctors told me to do each day. When I was let out of the hospital, they explained that I needed to stick with my rehab and chiropractic care, so I took that advice very seriously, too.
